Marin, who is an ex Vice-President of Capital Markets of Merrill Lynch in Geneva has an in-depth knowledge in Corporate Finance. He was involved in numerous cross border M&A with European clients and also led several private placements and IPOs as lead manager and book runner for a value of few billion US dollars.
Marin has an advanced knowledge in the following industries: Agribusiness, Aviation, Finance, Hospitality, IT, Pharmaceuticals, Property, Renewable Energy and Telecom. In the past 18 years Marin has held senior managerial positions in companies based in Albania, Canada, Luxembourg, Morocco, UK, Serbia/Kosovo and Switzerland.
Furthermore, Marin has been involved in M&A/ fund raising transactions for companies based in Albania (Infra, Real Estate, Telco), Algeria (Pharmaceutical), Canada (Oil & Gas, Mining), Costa Rica (Mining), India (Real Estate, Beverage), Kosovo (Agribusiness, Retail), Macedonia (Pharmaceutical, Retail), Poland (Real Estate), Russia (Pharmaceutical, Agribusiness), Serbia (Agribusiness) and Turkey (Renewable) notably.
Marin is an EBRD Enterprise Growth Program Senior Industrial Advisor (www.ebrd.com/egp) for several industries, CEED (USAID) Mentor since 2013, Swiss Club Vice-President and ENACTUS (ex-SIFE) 2009-2010 National competition Judge (www.enactus.org).
In April 2013, Marin entered the short list of registered EBRD external Nominee Director to act on the board of EBRD’s investee companies. In October 2013, the IFC (International Finance Corporation a member of the World Bank Group) also registered Marin as Nominee Director.
Erhan started his banking career in 1992 as a Management Trainee and has worked in all different disciplines of the banking sector. He's worked for international institutions such as Citibank, UniCredit and UBS.
During his career he’s realized a number of financing / re-financing deals for mid to large scale companies which operates in real estate, consumer goods, technology, pharmaceuticals etc.
In his last banking appointment at UBS Geneva, worked as Desk Head for Turkish desk where he served many high net worth individuals as well as completed quite a few investment-banking projects together with the investment banking team and the family office. He became expert on Luxembourg investment fund structures, off-shore set-ups and related taxation issues. In 2012 he became a Certified Investment Advisor.
In the end of 2013 he left UBS to pursue his independent practice. He’s founded MERC Financial Advisory Ltd to conduct his investment banking activities.
